Inwards
Background
Inwards is a 3D top-down horror survival game where you play as someone who is fighting in his own maze created by procedural generation. The player must face a variety of different enemies while having to deal with a dynamic reload system. There are pages and mementos that show the journey and the struggles that the main character has gone through in his life. This was a game that represents the struggles of mental health and shows a physical representation of people battling with the monsters in their head. I was the one that wrote the backstory of the game as well as all of the journal pages that the player collects. I also helped to 3D model a variety of the mementos in the game.

These are some of the 3D Models I did for the game. They are mementos for the player to collect that gives them happy memories.

I wrote 47 journal pages stories about the main character in the game. These detail the struggles they go through and also see how they try to overcome it.
Journal

The first story deals with the theme of self hate. The self hate comes from bullies and also a mom who was too harsh on them. The character deals with the idea that they were the reason their mom left.

The second story intertwines with the first and deals with the panic that the main character receives after their mom leaves. They go through panic attacks and grows fearful of going outside.

The last story deals with the death of the dad and looming dread that comes with it. The main character is faced with reality as everything piles up on him since his only family member died.
